If you’re an empath, you are prone to taking on the emotions/energy of those around you. Say you get up in the morning and all is good. Then you stop for coffee on the way to work and have to deal with a very grumpy barista. Bloop-bloop-bloop, you pick up some layers of energy. Then you get to work and have to deal with Nancy, the office cry-baby. You’re compassionate, so you listen as she spills. Bloop-bloop-bloop, you pick up some more layers of energy. Ah, home at last…but your partner has had a very bad day and wants to tell you about it, and your child is crying about how mean the teacher was that day. Bloop-bloop-bloop, you add a few more layers of energy.
Now, if you do nothing about that energy, the next morning when you wake up, you’re starting out your day with not just your own energy but that of the barista, Nancy, your partner, and your child. Whatever happens during the day will add to the layers of energy. Don’t clear it? Then tomorrow you’ll be greeting the day maybe feeling a little off, emotional for no good reason or easily irritated, maybe depressed.
Many strong empaths find themselves eventually isolating themselves. They’re not sure why sometimes. All they know is that being around other people can make them feel bad. Malls can be a nightmare with all the people around. Grocery stores, cinemas, concerts…anywhere with a number of people gathered can feel like an onslaught of bad feelings. They start feeling anxious and depressed, and sometimes their bodies can feel literally heavy, bogged down.
With your intention, you can clear the energy and start peeling off the layers you’ve picked up from others. It may seem silly. It may seem like a pain in the ass to have to fit into your day. But if any of this resonates with you, you would benefit from learning to clear your energy.
